Josiah
I put off the writing all day.
Drove this morning.
Napped in the middle.
Movie night this evening.
Now drawing with my little
girl. I don’t have the cognitive
capacity to create any productive
or meaningful meshes of meter
this evening.
Just a mushy, cottage cheese
brain and a full heart
like a freshly filled water ballon
ready to crash and burst
soaking your best friend to the skin
in the last carefree summers
before you both moved away forever.
His birthday was yesterday
he’s doing well
blessed with
a wife and a son now.
I show my daughter the difference
between a “big swoosh” paintbrush
and a “little swoosh” pen-stroke
as she explores digital art via Procreate.
Little moments
full of wonder
not too shabby
a poem, did make.
