Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use
platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive
way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and
encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes
to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly
anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of
the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities
offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings
and poetry workshops.
Melissa is based out of Akron, Ohio, where she lives with her husband, Cory, and their two feline companions: BMO & Novella. Melissa is a designer and photographer who spends her days assisting students with pretty much whatever they might need at the art school where she earned her BFA.
Reason for signing up:
Last year was an affirming and eye opening experience, reminding me why I write and that I do love it. I'm hopeful this year will bring about similar outcomes, even if it's just to get me to focus on something non-virus / work related for more than 5 minutes.
