A Poem for When You Thought You Were Someone but It Turns Out You Are Someone Else
Mysterious, this mind
you try to master. Unlikely,
the network of neurons
that lets you know it. The choices
that led you here, impossible
to tease apart, the tapestry
of your cells knotted
tight as a moment.
And now
you think it improbable
that you can make
something beautiful
of the life you have
left. Beloved, you
are the miracle
you seek. Lay down
the burden of your
tomorrows.
Today is the only place
where love
can meet you.

I am constantly lured by wonderful titles! Love how this moves and embraces the reader to embrace her/himself. This is an uplifting poem to read over and over.

Yeah.
Didn’t Katerina invite us to read the last words of each line?
The first stanza:
mind unlikely neurons choices impossible tapestry knotted moment now improbable !!
Long time no see! Really enjoyed the word choice and rhythm in this piece. The line break through me for a loop but very satisfied.
Beautiful imagery. Nice writing, Jasmine.
