can’t hardly wait
Junetime again in Kentucky, and favoring sweetest of fruits,
Tantalus eagerly waits. He’s not forgotten their taste.
Clusters of pawpaws pull lower the slenderest branches o’erhead,
ripening, swelling but green. Tantalus twitches a hand.
(elegaic couplets)
