Chasing Horizons
She had spent years
chasing distant horizons,
believing worth
was always waiting
somewhere beyond herself.
Then came a presence
that felt less like lightning
and more like a hearth—
a patient glow
after a long season of cold.
He asked nothing of her
but her own existence.
And in that rare warmth,
in the grace of being seen,
she discovered
what all her wandering had sought:
not a destination,
but a homecoming.
The quiet knowledge
that she was,
and had always been,
enough.
