You don’t speak my language,
neither do I speak yours;
all you learned about me
in my tongue
was my name, meaning “gold”;
all I knew
about you
through my tongue
was the taste
of  your skin,
Aram-jan*.

*Jan – in Armenian, added to a name, means “darling”
