Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use
platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive
way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and
encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes
to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly
anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of
the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities
offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings
and poetry workshops.
nudge/stretching/arching/taffy are of a piece but I also like the link between the rain and seashore salt water taffy
Thanks, Gaby! We got to hand stretch taffy once when I visited New Jersey.
What a scrumtious day you have ahead of you! Wow – these words are amazing.
Thanks, Nancy! The sun is now peeking out, so my rainy dreams may be gone soon.
Comforting words/visual acuity. Loved reading this in slow motion.
Slow motion is exactly how I felt on waking! Thanks, VL!
excellent evocative images!
Thank you, Mike, for the kind words!
Stretching right outside my window as I write this.
Fridays should be like that. Thanks, Kevin!
😀 a rainy morning
and not a cloud in the sky.
the kittens know its an extra cupa and a pen morning.
Thanks for qriting and sharing your gift with us 😊
Thanks, Coleman! An “extra cupa” sounds good. And thanks for being such a warm vocal cheerleader for us this June!
How tranquil and dreamy!
The creative metaphor at the end! Perfect!
Love all the implied images – yellow cat and taffy – subtle simile – stratching cat – stretching taffy.
