Earl
The cat in the sunshine lies
his torpor but a disguise
Unknowing the wren alights
a seed caught in its sights
The eye of the cat goes wide
the wren takes it all in stride
It sees the cat quickly pounce
and then off the glass door bounce

So fun, this cat and bird game.
Enjoy the carefully metered and rhymed poem.
