Evelyn and Lucy
She was walking with me in the garden,
I said do you want to have some lunch with me.
She didn’t trust my eyes.
I said come with me I don’t bite.
She wondered if she should go back to him.
I said I’ve been wandering back and forth on the earth.
I’ve popped in and out of it.
I’m glad I’ve found you.
I’m going to kiss you.
Hold still.
She confided in me… she liked my experience.
And just then she took… a bite.
It was not hard to persuade him to do it too.
The two of them were so very… very nice.

I love this presentation. Lucy took me a minute, even though I was aware … I don’t know why. “I’m glad I found you” gave me chills. One of my top 3 poems of yours I’d say (so far).
Your poem today gave me chills, and the title took me “home” in a winking, satisfying way. Thank you for reading this today. It does take a second to capture the characters, see the references as some have said. Interesting you knew before you knew. Your poem today was wonderful – very relatable.
There was no way to comment that I saw but I heard you read this – so so very well done
