Fly
After Lucille Clifton
open your eyes to water
Now
is the time to
Steer
away from the safe harbors
Position
green islands with sandy beaches at your back
Crank
your anchor tightly into its locker
Rest
your hands lightly on the wheel then
Fill
your sails with wind to
Fly

Great energy and sounds in this poem. Thanks for sharing.
I always love the themes of beginnings and setting outs that comes along with Poetry Month. Thank you for adding to the magic.
Beautiful poem.
The one word lines really pack a punch. Nice work.
This poem has such a strong sense of momentum and command.
