Forever Chilled
I sit in the bath, and wait for the scalding hot water to make a change.
But it never comes.
Nothing will ever rid me of the excruciating cold you left within my bones.

THIS! Now tell me, when the water grows cold do you even feel it? Or did homeostasis make you feel numb?
I look forward to reading more of your poetry! <3
The numbness lingers, making processing anything more than the initial temperature seem irrelevant. But when the time comes that the mind does process the cold, it’s more comforting than you’d imagine.
Thank you so much, I’ll be looking for yours as well! <3
