Going
Instead
of dying
in a puddle of mercury;
the moon’s
about to faint —
turns up a glazed white eye
still warm
like a baby
feverish
and fresh.
[This is an erasure poem created from “Going to the Bakery” by Elizabeth Bishop.]

I love that image of “dying in a puddle of mercury.” Such a great find!
I like it, Chelsea. (I’m having fun imagining a fainting moon). I haven’t tried this style before, but I like what you’ve done with it.
Well done Chelsie.
Yeah !! I’m with Lee on the fainting moon, incredible splicing.
Craft.
I love what you’ve done with this form. You crafted such an evocative piece. Awesome write!
I especially like “glazed white eye”
I love this. Dense with images yet so compressed. Love all of these ways you enliven the moon
Fabulous, Chelsie’
I really need to sit down and try an erasure poem. The way it feels both fragile and fresh is really moving. A lovely, luminous piece.
What fresh takes on the moon!
