Heat Advisory
It’s too hot and I have no motivation.
It feels like the land is letting out
a long exhale–all droop. It’s oppressive,
and even the limbs of trees turn down.
If only–if only like the tug of a train.

There isn’t an image that suits this heat better than a drooping landscape. Well done!
Thanks, Katrina! I’m still drooping honestly.
I’m feeling that droop right about now. Nice one, Shaun.
Thanks, Bill! I am, too
I love the title and how both the land and you are drooping.
Thanks, Linda!
Ah yes, all exhale! Perfect.
Thank you, Allen!
I love everything about this poem. Well, except that it’s true because I am also drooping in the heat. Fantastic conveyance.
I’m hoping for a freak cold front to come from somewhere :s
Agree with Katrina, you and the landscape partnered in drooping.
It feels like the land is letting out
a long exhale–all droop.
Thank you, Pam!
I was like the little train that couldn’t today. Not sure I like what this week will bring!
I have literally worked from home all week to stay out of the hellmouth
drooping yes just the right word
At this point, I’m afraid I’m frizzled
Hey, have you noticed from the comments that droop was a great word choice? Because that was a great word choice. Really enjoyed this poem.
Thanks, Philip!
