Horn Hollow Trail Hike
going up we work the core
going down we work the calves
hop from one foothold to the next
to avoid a mudslide
grateful to each tree and stone
that keeps us from going over the edge
we look one step ahead
juggle momentum with balance
work up a sweat

God bless Mother Nature. Very adventurous, Gaby!
Sounds like a damn good metaphor for living.
This made me want to move!
As an avid hiker, this poem resonated deeply! “we look one step ahead
juggle momentum with balance”
I just love that!
Beautiful.
I am inspired.
Love how the journey of the hike is shared. I could see this perfectly: “grateful to each tree and stone/that keeps us from going over the edge”
describes the experience well
Nature’s gymnasium! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Better you than me, Gaby. I’m the Great Indoorsman…
“we look one step ahead” Wonderful metaphor of life. So packed with rich imagery!
Nice detail that opens up the broader picture for us.
Love this, how it can be read literally, but how it also opens up to other, broader meanings.
You turned a hike into a work (walk) of beauty.
