If I Knew
where songs come from I would go there more often
Leonard Cohen
We come to a rest stop, the border
of July. We unwrap our pre–made
sandwiches, we kick feet through
the wild grass of a well worn trail.

It’s the last day of June, which is the zero day for
the rest of the year and we just wanted to say
thank you for reading, for commenting, for being.
Sharing your gifts and the encouragements as we
all attempt to build a more comfortable relationship
with the world and our place in it. It is a privilege
for our house to be able to attend this gathering.
Watching the poems glittering and new, day after
day is astounding.
And, I believe that after what we have just finished,
a run to the ice cream store is definitely in order.

Love the poem, especially “kick our feet through
the wild grass of a well worn trail.”
Love your and Linda’s fitting description of this very safe place to breathe and be.

Really hope you’re turning your Marlin poems into a manuscript. Powerful stuff, Coleman, as was all your work this month.

Thanks for the link. Reading the story in it now….Took my breath…”There is a silence in this world that speaks.”
