“Kiddo”
I felt invincible on top
of my dad’s shoulders
the conqueror of worlds
nothing was beyond me.
Dad would tell me, “Kiddo,
you are my favorite daughter.”
Which made me laugh,
because I was the only one.
And before I was anything
I was just a daughter
wasn’t even the smartest
but I was loved,
which made all the difference.

Beautiful writing! “And before I was anything /I was just a daughter…”
Sweet middle stanza.
Love: “And before I was anything
I was just a daughter”
Delightful memory.
