Kitchen Table Issues
Conversations lurch
towards the dark places
without warning.
Drop the grab
bag of grievance
on the three-legged
table of relationship.
Pick at the problems—
starving people spill
like stars pounding furiously
at the darkness of heaven before exploding.
Part of peace—
knowing when to fade away.

” the thee-legged
table of relationship.”
And
The last whispered line.
The whole thing is delicate thunder.
Nice!!
That last line really drives the poem home
Beautiful poem, especially love “knowing when to fade away.”
I love the escalation to “p” sounds in the third stanza
And I really liked that “grab / bag of grievance.” So much to enjoy about this poem.
What all of them said!!
