Life as an Hourglass
I’m flipped upside-down
watch pieces fall, build below—
don’t let me run out
don’t let me run out

Wow! This hits home for me.
Awesome! So glad it does. Thank you for reading, Nancy!
Every word fits perfectly! A true gem. Do you have an hourglass? We had a mini-one once that came with a game. Fascinating to watch, but not when compared to time passing!
Thank you, Sylvia! I remember the mini timers for our board games too! My mother had a real hourglass. It was encased in a cool wooden block with spindled sides. It had a medium brown finish. Inside the glass was white sand. I have no clue where it is now, but I remember playing with it a ton as a kid. Thank you for reading and for reminding me of that memory.
I feel that way, too.
Thank you, Lee! I am glad to see that this poem sparked a connection.

Absolutely! The humor keeps us going. Hope all works out for you and that you enjoy countless pain-free steps. Thank you for reading!
