Little Prince
Who would’ve thought
7 pounds and 10 ounces
Could contain
The weight of the world
Who knew
That his little baby hands
His little baby feet
His little baby body
Could make me
Like Atlas
Hold the world up
But not as punishment
For him
And one day
He’ll take the world off my shoulders
And into his hands
To do with as he pleases
I just hope
That I can leave him
With a world
That doesn’t feel
So Heavy

Lovely ending.
What a heartfelt poem. Love the mythological reference. I’ll remember this one for a long time.
Love this poem and the emotions are spot on. Congratulations, Dad!
Thank you, Chris!
