Longing for Limantour
Land-locked living is hard
for a Pacific-ocean-born
rough-wave loving woman
Kentucky has its splendors and secrets
Its own magic but never will it be
the true place of my heart, my soul
Not for me the tame waves and
crowded beaches of the east
Not for me the warm
salt water of the south
Give me the rough-waved
cold-watered beach
The lonely beach whose only sounds are
waves and wind seagulls and sea lions

Lovely poem. I feel something like this for the beaches of North Carolina where I grew up. Not usually as dramatic as those on the west coast but they have their moments.
I feel this in my soul, having grown up near the ocean. I think I need a visit home.
I totally understand! Kentucky is beautiful, but I am from Hawaii. In a way, I am sea locked. Sometimes I miss driving and driving across land.
