I adore this, friend. The back and forth movement is excellent and ethereal. I feel like the reader can really place themself in a dream here.
Thank you, A.G.! I appreciate that you read. Glad you enjoyed it.
“Dreams. Inconsistent angel things.
Horses bred with star-laced wings.
But it’s so hard to make them fly.”

Thanks, Joseph.
Again , always great to see you june 1.
” reaching ” Inverted that way is wonderful.
Love the title and the swayfeel of it.
Thank you, Coleman. Great to see you in June, too! Happy you enjoyed the placement for “reaching”— I considered leaving it plain on the page. I am glad that I didn’t.
Special words in creative form.
Thank you, John. Glad you enjoyed this one.
I love poems that blow up form! They are journeys through thought and feeling.
Thanks, Lee. It’s great to see you back this June.
My eyes loved following the shape of this poem!
Thank you, Sarah. I am happy you enjoyed the poem’s shape. It can be tricky to get the spacing to translate here.
Your form keeps the reader engaged and is so enjoyable!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the form. It’s not always easy to translate the forms on the screen. Writing in a notebook has its perks. : ) Happy June to you! Thanks for reading.
H.A. I am so digital! NOTEBOOKS? Perhaps unplugging has its perks.
Yep. I write almost everything by hand first. It forces me to slow down. I’m typically less satisfied with things I craft on the computer— my mind moves too quickly and I don’t give each thought enough consideration. I appreciate that you see the value in the physically written word.
Wow, how creative! I have vertigo now and I’m floating. The way you wrote reaching was also a masterstroke to an already brilliant piece.
Thanks, Jeremy. I’m glad the form is both felt and appreciated. Happy PoMo!
what wild abandon and freefall movement, something to shake me out of my humdrum life
Many thanks, Gaby! So good to see you back here. : ) I look forward to reading more of your work this June.
Back with a punch, H.A.! Love the tension of a playful form and a serious message, all swirling in the ethereal world of dreams.
Big thanks, Sylvia! I appreciate that you saw the swirl amidst the wild formatting. Happy PoMo!
meaning in motion
motion makes the pain stop,
i’m reaching
for my old ee cummmings
Many thanks, Jim! I appreciate the ee cummings reference, and your reply’s craft. Very cool. Happy PoMo!
this is beautiful H.A. OZ, the tornado, meniscus tension, yearning, one scroll away from the next surprise. so glad to read it.
Thanks, Manny. I appreciate your careful read. Happy June to you!
Way to use the page (or screen) as a field. My favorite part: ” “I ride like a speck of dust,
clinging to the rich fabric worn by a whirling dervish
dancing, spinning
sailing along the Sufi songs”
Thanks, Tom. I’ve been kicking around the whirling dervish image for a while now. It felt good to give it a home.
So cool and clever, love the form and shape, the little tornados and dervishes whirling about. Great to read you again HA.
Thanks, Bill! Always great to read your work, too. I appreciate your kind words. I look forward to another wonderful June of reading and writing poetry. See you out there, friend!
I love the shape of this poem.
Brilliant beginning:

I can sense the movement in how you wrote this:
a turbulent t-h-r-u-s-t
Thanks, Pam! I’m glad you love the opening. I had a few different iterations going on this one. I cannot wait to read your work this June. So happy to see you here!
So much to enjoy where with the space and form but love “liquid lucidity.” “for high-holiness…” “The water’s meniscus cups my head in crescent-shaped…”
Thank you, Shaun! I am pleased to see that these sections spoke to you. I look forward to reading your work this June, friend!
