nap poem
So small on the full bed, he naps
on a cool cotton sheet
after a sticky morning
of peeking into empty rain spouts and
testing his hands with the number
of pebbles they can hold
I tiptoe in to note
his tummy rise and fall
today I write quickly
or else have no poem at all

Delightful!
This is charming! So glad you have the energy to write when he sleeps.
so sweet and restful 🙂
some of the best poems
come
when you have to squeeze
them in
Poetry can revive same as a nap,! Love this.
This is a beautiful ephemeral capture
What a dear poem! I have 2 grandsons 3 and 3 1/2 . I watch them from time to time and no what you mean about getting a little respite when they nap! But this is also a very beautiful poem, capturing so so so much before they are suddenly in first grade or graduating high school! Relish these moments!
