orange apothecary
porch underfoot as skies
red with sun lone doe lunches
before lunging away from noise
so I stood still and gazed like stone
statue she came slowly
enraptured by sun’s warmth and
her graze and in malaise I ran
teeth through the trunk of
her arterial maze
