Packing
Don’t think, just crinkle
brown paper around Nana’s
red and white china plates,
floral teacups with
partnered saucers, and
delicate bud vases.
The division of beauty
saved for a special
occasion that never arrived,
a period at the end of
what is no longer
a life
sentence.

The mundaneness you so delicately captured in the first stanza and the weight in the second is beautiful. Lovely work.
Welcome to poetry month!!
Great line breaks on those last three. Nicely done.
The division of beauty…I love this line.
