Paper Secrets
Show me what you’ve lost
in the pouring rain
Nevermind the cost,
to be drowned in a puddle of your own creation.
Tell me pretty lies
for false claims of friendship
Now everytime she cries
you pretend to be sedated.
Sing to me in my dreams
my pretty songbird
Pulled apart at the seams|
Never to be trusted.
Share with me
your paper secrets
the ones that will set me free
before they dissolve in the rain.

I like the directive at the beginning of each stanza
Thank you!
I love “your paper secrets”
Thanks! It was a random phrase from my unconscious mind but I’m glad it paid off!
