Reflection
The
Sky does not
Care that the lake
Steals its beauty and form
Just that it show the same
Goal by reflecting
Only what is
True

Eric, a great lesson from Mother Nature in sharing and truth!
Thanks, John!
Courier New font was meant for this piece, but the formatting didn’t submit, nor will it the edit ‘stick’. Oh well.
That happened to me last year!
brilliant conceit
Thanks, Gaby!
Something very Eastern about this one. I love!
Thank for reading, Lee!
I’m enjoying these short poems from you! Fascinating gems to ponder!
Huge compliment! I find I’m enjoying them, too. Thanks, Sylvia!
Love the symmetrical image (just like a reflection) of the poem, and its careful word choice. So good.
Thank you, Karen!
This poem gives me a sense of the importance of community and communal sharing. I love the concept of the lake stealing the beauty of the sun. Elegant.
Interesting take–and an important one.
Thank you, Virginia!
Love the form and content of this one!
Kind words. Thanks, Linda!
The form you use here works well in conveying the truth of the poem!
Thank you, Greg!
Wonderful take on reflection: “The/Sky does not/Care that the lake/Steals its beauty and form”
Thank you, as ever, Pam!
Beautiful! I love this philosophical ending: “reflecting / Only what is / True.”
Thank you for the kind words, Michele!
Great observation, Eric. Really like this one a lot.
Thanks, Bill!
I like how reflection is an act of integrity here, Eric.
Thank you, Jeremy!
I had to smile at the ease of transaction between the sky and the lake–‘The/ Sky does not/ Care that the lake/ Steals its beauty” …It tempted me into almost believing in mythology! or a new one– I love it when a few words suggest a large stage. I really enjoyed this poem.
Encouraging comment, Ann! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Wow. How thought provoking! This is beautiful.
Thanks for taking the time to read, Mary! Kind words.
