Reunion VII
Paving the entry way,
bricks with names engraved;
a mausoleum in miniature.
I couldn’t believe teachers,
classmates, friends
departed. Reality set in
when I saw my sister’s name
on the small rectangular block
of red clay. The only monument
bearing her name.

I know this had to have been a tough thing to see. Nice work. I especially like the last line.
This Reunion poem…. might be my favorite one yet…
heart breaking
Thanks to both of you.
The fragment “The only monument/bearing her name” ending the poem speaks to another level of “Reality.”
Thank you, Baby!
Oh, what a typo. Thank you, Gaby! Sorry!
