Rhyme/Repeat/Rhyme: (Or Sean Corbin made me write this nonsense!)
The geese drift in the breeze above the gilded lake
The beef sits in the freezer under the wilted cake
The creek drives by the bees on the way to the wake
Our cheeks burn red by degrees when riding the brakes
We ease our keys in the lock; we beg: do not forsake.

Glad Sean made you. Great poem. Especially love, “We ease our keys in the lock; we beg: do not forsake.”
No rinsing needed. Great title, great prompt or push! I really enjoyed the skillful outcome.
Thoroughly enjoyable! Kudos as well to Sean for the spark.
“Our cheeks burn red by degrees when riding the brakes” -!!!
It is good and I have to celebrate your victory where I failed miserably!
I love the pairing of “the gilded lake” with “wilted cake”
Loved it
You did a great job of talking your way out of a logjam! (BTW I got an e-mail that your book is in the mail -yeah!!!)
