Roles and Identity
There is an identity you see
In you and in me
Set up through roles
Your very own play
This is your choice
Everyone has a voice
Step forward into the light
Downstage, do you like your part?
There are options, other choices
Noting where you’ve been
Where are you standing now?
Front and center, the light is yours

Wonderful. I love this theatre metaphor to address life’s questions. Great title, gorgeous last line. All in-between, lovely!
I loved moving through this poem and the positioning changing with different cues—and that last phrase “the light is yours” was a great ending.
Identity and Voice pieces of our whole

I love the way you question positioning in this poem reminded me of being on stage getting comfortable with taking the floor ~ all that light! nice poem Jess
