Sequence, Offspring of Former Albino Robin, I See You’ve Returned to My Back Yard for a Second Summer
Are you from Cadence
or Melody? Your marking
so different from theirs—
instead of tan body
your tail and underbelly
are white—in case you
can not see yourself
and your mate doesn’t tell.

Good poem. The robins like our house too. We have nests on three corners of the house on top of the gutter drain pipes. We think the birds and squirrels consider our yard a happy place.
The birds especially need happy places. Thanks, Tori.
I love this tone, how the poem is in dialogue with the reader and robin
Thanks, Shaun.
I adore this! Your care and curiosity about the world come through so beautifully here.
Thanks, Kevin.
Love how you name the birds, how you address the offspring.
Thanks, Karen. It has been fun watching the generations.
