Sightings
leave the grave green
against the fall of night
the blue salt road
gently by the shore
dancing bears
so brave, young, and handsome
the seventh function of language
tried by fire
a box of frogs
the heart’s invisible furies
guns of outlaws
kitchen knife skills
nourishing broth
grain of truth
seeing flowers
open house for butterflies

What evocative couplets! And a real blast from the past – I remember a children’s book called “Open House for Butterflies!”
Beautiful! Great soundscape, too!
I forgot to mention this is found poetry, made from book titles. Good catch, Nancy!
Loved it and amazed that it is found poetry. You did an awesome job! Thanks.
evocative images!
I didn’t recognize titles and was therefore surprised by the comments. It’s fascinating what you do with “formula poems.” (Don’t know if “formula” is the appropriate word.) Particularly like the combination of “function of language” and “tried by fire.”
