Summer Solstice Triolet
Bathed in the sun’s energy, full tilt,
let the longest day’s light carry you
through the moonless nights, alone and still.
Bathed in the sun’s energy, full tilt,
the earth leans to gather her fill,
pour into the empty, begin anew.
Bathed in the sun’s energy, full tilt.
Let the longest day’s light carry you.

This is beautiful, Ellen. I love the sense of fullness – full tilt, gather her fill – that is so right for the day of solstice.
Thanks, Nancy!
Sounds like a beautiful meditation!
This form really does that! Now, to actually go meditate!
This is beautiful, & I especially love all the “l” sounds.
Thank you!
Lovely. I like that you end on the first two lines.
Thanks, Melva Sue! That’s what this form –the Triolet– asks us to do.
Beautiful. I agree with Roberta—sounds like a meditation.
Thanks for visiting! Every night I try to visit more pages. Tonight, I’ll go visit Gwyneth! :))
What a lovely poem – very prayer-like. Thank you for this and Happy Solstice to you as well.
