Summer Woman
when everyone and
every goddamn thing
has slipped into
my DNA and taken
out my codes
you come
in the fabled eighties
sunsets of pinks
crimsons and oranges
reflecting in a black ocean
fill those missing parts
with hope that I never had
in the first place

This is so striking.
What a beautiful title. This is a great love poem. And as poems often should be, it’s very efficient. A lot said in a few words.
Nice! I’m feeling it! Especially like my dang codes are getting ripped out.
I love the black ocean and those blacklight poster colors…
