sunday sunrise
on the argentine road
sits a turkey vulture.
its widespread wings
feathering morning air,
sunday sunrise.

the “w”s, “feathering,” last line, and title all conjure up the turkey vulture for me
yes, love that opening line – it’s not very often that the vulture gets its just due; this is wonderful….
turkey vultures eat the dead
which is such a service for us
they deserve to feather
the morning air
Amen. Why not write a poem about vultures? I wrote one about the much maligned starlings!
