The Ambivalence of Moving Forward
article by
Philip Corley

The answers to my story
are always the same.
“You’re better off…”
“You’ll find someone else…”
“Something so brittle was bound to break.”

I very much want them to be wrong about you
but I can’t make you prove it
and I can’t wait forever.
In between those two endings,
so precious little I know how to say.
