the brevity of Tulips
You’re always hiding behind perfection,
an emotion possessing your whole being
you fixate, cling, hang on tightly to a string, but the world is always changing and you can’t appraise for everything
don’t you know life’s too short to waste time waiting;
for Tulips that only bloom briefly in the spring?

The brevity of life really comes through in this. Bravo.
Love this.
Life’s too short to waste time waiting — amen! This is so well realized — great descriptions.
Nice. I like “fixate, cling, hang on tightly to a string.” Good message, and tulips are my favorite flower!
I had never thought about the way tulip petals seem to cling forever past their bloom. I like the turn in the last two lines
Nice rendering of the fragility of life, its brevity and addressing the you as a gentle rebuke . Love it!
I actually sighed at the end of the poem-beautifully done!
Nice image. So true.
Yes! Loving the parallel. Sad, but true.
So very true, but some things in life are worth the wait… even if the payout is fleeting.
