The day is a new tree
and leaks through the clinging sky, quite interupted
by bird and older branch and yet time and a new sun
in the temple pond
keep walking through a cloud birthing, a living sprout
of the year itself as trees reach toward solar mid-day.
colorful shuffling koi swim—
The variety of new planted tree is different, not Dawn
Redwood or Castanea, no Strobus or even Cladrastis.

I love ” a living sprout/of the year itself” and wonder about the different new planting! Enjoyed the form!

I think the time element of it was the tricky part cuz it kept moving around. Thank you for commenting on it.
Thank you Linda 😀
It is neat to watch the clouds doing June things.
Oh, this is excellent! I just love “keep walking through a cloud birthing, a living sprout
of the year itself as trees reach toward solar mid-day.”
A beautiful write, poet!
Thank you 😀
Such a delicate poem

Love the concept of koi as clouds, I can see those shuffling hulks masked by water. Also like how the last couplet breaks with the usual, not those of the past but something new. Really nice, Coleman.
Yes yes !!!!!! The koi- as clouds
Thanks for deep reflection !!
Bill you’re awesome !!!
We all have our own styles but I don’t think anyone writes like you! I like what Kevin said. You write like a cloud forms.
Oh !!!! I love you so very much!

Coleman, I really like your artistic approach to this poem.
Thank you John, coming from you I’ll cherish that.
This one was difficult.
You’ve become my poetic guru of clouds and trees, Coleman!
Lololol I’ll take it …..lolol
As Joan Slonczewski so eloquently put it ” how can you swim in the ocean without the ocean also swimming in you”
Learnsharing is real 😀

So many provocative lines here: “…leaks through the clinging sky…”, “…a cloud birthing…” etc. Such good stuff!
Thank you for reading Lee.
