The Jaguar
During the day he lies
in blue-green grass
shifting under the weight
of heat and insect.
But twilight—
twilight is a hum of rock and moon—
in his eyes shadowy shards of planets
rise splintering bone and root
and casting blood about
in patterns of plenty.

I really like the imagery here
“twilight is a hum of rock and moon—
in his eyes shadowy shards of planets” and all way to the end–haunting imagery.
Effective repeat of the word “twilight.”
Strong, fresh images as always
Looking into the eyes of a Jaguar is a challenge…
in patterns of plenty.
I love love that last line!
