The Real You
Sitting near you
Thinking how can it be
We live so closely
Talk so often
Share so much
Yet keep our pain alone
Walls of politeness are not
The biggest obstacle
Sitting here, worrying
Over your disappointment
I feel closer than being near
You, trying to support you,
The stranger

“Walls of politeness are not/The biggest obstacle” I love the walls of politeness. I think most can relate to this poem. Well done, Shauna!
Thank you!
Your poem moves us to shatter those walls!
“Walls of politeness are not
The biggest obstacle
Sitting here, worrying ”
Amazing!
Thank you!
Powerful! I especially am drawn to the line: “Yet keep our pain alone”- it says it all.
Thank you!
