Nicely done, Ellen! And I’ve enjoyed watching the “peregrine drama” too. And your haiku here all point to the drama that is nature, and the drama of human nature, too.
Thanks, Nancy!
The peregrine drama keeps me laughing!

lovely haiku, Ellen! Hey, is there a link to the “peregrine drama”?
I like all of these, but isn’t Haiku 5-7-5 rather than 4-7-4?
I perform haikus on my digeridoo – can I perform these sometime?
Hi, Steve,
American haiku can be any syllable count! The 5-7-5 was kind of an arbitrary number chosen at an earlier point to make an attempt to emulate the Japanese concision.
And “yes” to the performance!

made me laugh, replacing the teens for the gunslingers in the 1950s movie High Noon
Ha!
I love the way these fit together and give a feel for the season.
Good stuff, Ellen. The third one is my favorite. I look forward to reading more of your work this month.
Hi, Tom!
Thanks! I kept the start simple…
Can’t wait to read yours, too!
Ellen
I am so intimidated by haiku! These are so well crafted.
I don’t do them well, but I love trying! They help me hone imagery for longer poems.
3 is my favorite Captures mood of summer
Thanks for reading, Pat!
I love how they flow into each other like the slow trickle of the falls.
You must be a poet! 🙂
I, too, have watched the peregrine cams.
I like the thread you create with these three haiku!
So much packed into so little — well done!
I love these three different views of summer!
