Today
how do I not write of rain
drops drips gutter bottoms
drenched leaves
drooped heads
sad faces
gray skies
another day inside
eyes fixed to scenes beyond
limp limbs prodded
by southern winds
when that’s all I see
through the window
screens of my life?

A poets cry for sunshine and release from
the Kentucky monsoon. My what great job,
written as if in bursts of rain and gusts of wind. Great job of description.
So good! Love “drops drip” and “limp limbs” Lots of music in this poem, the way rain serenades us.
