Wish for the Day
-for Fanny H. Salmon
The world busy
with writers today.
I see the evidence
online with our
humble corner of
poets, living lives
and writing about
the same. The wish
of it, placing
hope and longing
to words. The world
turns and writers
flip their lights off,
go to bed, while others
wake and go about
their business, so that
there is at least someone
writing all hours, and
it comes again to
my turn. Let me
not disappoint.

Very well said.
Kudos! Geoff!
You and me both, Geoff.
Keep going Geoff
I love how you make the solitary communal in this piece
I’ve never thought about this – how at every moment, someone is writing, trying to put words to all this, like a torch being passed from hand to hand.
Love it. Yesterday it hit me how much fine work is already appearing this June in this group. I’m trying to read EVERY POEM, but life keeps getting in my way.
In every moment someone is writing — so important in an age of AI.
