Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2020

Leslie is a lover of complex female characters, Liverpool FC, and Milton's "Sonnet 23." She finds joy in meandering long runs through horse country and reading good books on park swings.

Reason for signing up:

As an English teacher, I believe it's important to practice what I preach: 1) be willing to fail and then grow through the process, 2) be an active and compassionate member of a writing community, and 3) never stop learning. Huzzah!
