Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2025

Makia is a poet who started writing in the 3rd grade. She is in the process of completing her first book. She loves to write poems whose content is remnants of real life situations. She often uses her poetry to tell a story. Her beautiful cat Promise is often her muse. She has written on and off for over 30yrs and has always been afraid of being good enough. She found out that she is, and now she plans to self publish her first book.
