Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2025

Mike Olson earned his BA in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Arizona where he workshopped poems with noted poets Nikki Giovanni and Czeslaw Milosz. His work has been widely anthologized and his first full length book of poetry “In The Tall Grasses” was published in July 2024. He has also been a Writer’s Digest Poetry competition finalist 3 years in a row (2022, 2023, 2024). Presently he facilitates the Cincinnati Writer’s Project workshops and is a long-time member and key contributor to the nearly century old Greater Cincinnati Writer’s League.
