I’m hoping this helps me complete my morning pages.

Because, after attending my first Poetry at the Table and a writing retreat with Leatha Kendrick, I wanted to be part of this community. Also, poet Mary Allen invited me.

Though I haven’t lived in Kentucky for almost five years, I can’t experience June without LexPoMo.
Our community feeds my imagination and challenges my skills!

I’m signing up for LexPoMo because poetry has helped me make sense of grief, addiction, faith, and growing up in Appalachia. I want to continue growing within a literary community that values honest storytelling. Writing alongside others pushes me towards accountability and allows me to take creative risks. I’m especially excited to connect with other creatives, support one another, and read some new writing during LexPoMo!

June wouldn’t be June without LexPoMo!

Since I’ve retired, I felt it was something I’d like to get back into and meet some new people and hopefully make new friends.
