Split Sequence
carrying lanterns
we climb the temple stairs—
fireflies leaving grass
裾をからげ
in terraced pools of sky
together we plant taro
in a dream
流れへと踏み入—
the work—
a hundred years begins
with one kindled flame
水門を開け
for Allen Ginsberg (born June 3, 1926)

That first image is so arresting: love “fireflies leaving grass”
That second stanza is beautiful and so efficient! It’s a whole poem itself.
