Cave Acoustics
We throw our words out into the wind
hoping one day the intent will echo back
without undue distortion from the valleys, cliffs,
or caves where people jeer at shadows—
for the ones who walked away
were too weary or too wary
to return and build a proper skylight,
only chiseling a few small cracks
which let but a whisper of our words seep through.

WOW
That image of creating real openness and light between people is superb. Really well done.

The powm.made me think of plates cave too.
This is incredible! Your poem reminds me of Ursula K. leGuin.
” for the ones who walked away
were too weary or too wary
to return and build a proper skylight,”
Love this!
I love the title! Well done.
Love the whole poem and especially the first and last lines (throw, seep)
