Each Drop Drops
You’re rolling off
the tongue,
tumbling towards
the ground,
then gathering steam
with other drops;
this gravity
drags you down
down, you go
down, you flow
down beyond
my view
here, on river’s edge,
you disappear,
the last I’ll see
of you

An elegy for raindrops! What a great idea.
I enjoyed the free release and simultaneously sad quality of this piece.
I was particularly engaged by “the last I’ll see of you.”
Beautiful and lyrical. I can hear a song in this.
nice work.
down, down, down,
disappearing
view
of you..
gravity and grey..
transported me to John Hartford’s ‘…mystery above…mystery below…’ tune. I love magic carpet poems
Thank you all!
