they approached like fire

an ambush, advancing swiftly with the wind
in place of vivid flame
darkness marked their reign
graceful dancers
they twirled across the sky
in a synchronized charge
shadows of the heavens converged
roaring, they charged forth
booming cannons let loose
blazing light as they attacked
and the sun ceased to exist
rendered motionless by the flawless maneuver
I was baptized with their triumphant tears

A reflection:

all afternoon
I watched the thunderclouds move
I long for moments like these
The smell of the rain
The dance of the clouds
When time goes on
And I no longer want to be
I hope I remember
moments like these
